Ferrane

Brooklyn Heights (Brooklyn)

This week, we're thrilled to feature Ferrane, Brooklyn Heights' newest community bakery that's bringing exceptional Swedish baking traditions to the neighborhood.

Ferrane was founded by two Swedish-born friends, Emon Maasho and Selim Adira of cult-favorite candy store BonBon, who bonded over their shared love of Swedish breads and pastries.

Named after the Moroccan word for "community oven", Ferrane reflects both founders' heritage—Adira's Moroccan roots and Maasho's Eritrean background—while staying true to Swedish baking at its core.

Proving that they know quality when they see it, the founders brought on rising star Mathilda Jacob as Creative Head Baker after she won 1st place at the 2024 Young World Championship.

Located on Clark Street in a beautifully renovated landmarked building, Ferrane is more than just a bakery—it's an inclusive space committed to building community through outstanding bread and pastries

YOUR BOX INCLUDES:

  • CINNAMON BUN: The most cinnamon-y Swedish cinnamon bun we’ve ever had, featuring a lovely doughy texture with magnificently swirled layers and lots of bold flavor.

  • CHOCOLATE AND COCONUT BUN: A beautifully subtle and moist pastry that showcases the bakery's expertise in flavor combinations.
