This week, we're thrilled to feature Nick + Sons Bakery, Greenpoint's temple to butter and home to what many consider the city's finest croissants.

Nick + Sons was founded by Nicholas Heavican, a former photographer who apprenticed at a bakery in Reykjavik before bringing his sourdough expertise to Brooklyn in 2018.

What started as a small weekend walk-up window in Williamsburg has grown into a beloved institution, with lines snaking down the block and devoted customers making pilgrimages for Heavican's masterful lamination work.

Now located across from McCarren Park in Greenpoint, this spacious third outpost features an open kitchen designed as an homage to the Icelandic bakeries that originally inspired Heavican's craft.

WARMING INSTRUCTIONS*:
