Two Sebastians, One Nordic Vision

This week, we're thrilled to feature Smør Bakery!

Founded by two Danes - both named Sebastian - who grew up in Denmark before moving abroad.

They felt NYC needed authentic Nordic-inspired baked goods, so they brought their vision to life.

Inspired by Copenhagen's legendary bakery scene, they opened their first restaurant in 2019.

Fresh Sourdough & Rye Breads Daily

Their rye bread is hearty with character—the kind Scandinavians swear by.

Rotating loaves include dark chocolate-cherry, olive, seeded, and heritage grains like Einkorn and Danko rye.

Baker Rowan Gill (Bien Cuit, Leo) spent months perfecting the recipes.

Out Of This WOrld Cardamom Buns

Their braided cardamom buns are a signature item with Rowan's special spin.

Cinnamon buns fresh from the oven are equally beloved.

Seasonal danishes, filled donuts, and traditional Nordic pastries rotate through the menu.

Even Scandinavians say these cardamom and cinnamon buns are out of this world.

More Than Just Pastries

A mini general store offers Scandinavian provisions like pickled herring, smoked salmon, and rye chips.

Housemade granolas, jams, and grab-and-go dips alongside imported Nordic specialty items.

Everything from the simplicity of Nordic tradition to the warmth of neighborhood hospitality.

We can't wait for you to experience Smør Bakery!
