A Swedish Bakery From the Founder of BonBon
This week, we're thrilled to feature Ferrane!
Founded by two Swedish-born friends — Emon Maasho and Selim Adira.
Selim you might know from BonBon, his cult-favorite candy store in Williamsburg.
They bonded over a shared love of Swedish breads and pastries and decided to build something together.
The name Ferrane comes from the Moroccan word for "community oven."`
It reflects both founders' heritage — Selim's Moroccan roots and Emon's Eritrean background — while staying rooted in Swedish baking tradition.
A World Champion in the Kitchen
To lead the baking, they brought in Mathilda Jacob as Creative Head Baker.
She won first place at the 2024 Young World Championship.
Not a local competition… The world championship!
The pastries reflect that level of ambition — technically exceptional and deeply considered.
Yet Another Amazing Bakery in Brooklyn Heights
Ferrane lives in a beautifully renovated landmarked building on Clark Street in Brooklyn Heights.
The space is intentionally designed to bring people together.
This place is about community. It’s in the name and everything they do!
We can't wait for you to experience Ferrane! ✌️🗽
