Oct 17 - 19: Ceremonia Bakeshop
Williamsburg (Brooklyn)
This week, we're thrilled to feature Ceremonia Bakeshop, the family-run Williamsburg bakery that's become a neighborhood institution blending Vietnamese and Dominican cultures into beloved baked goods.
Ceremonia comes from husband-and-wife team Amy and Martty Batista, who met when Amy, a Vietnamese-American pastry chef from California, moved to New York in 2013 and worked at a Williamsburg bakery where she encountered Martty, a Dominican-American born and raised in the neighborhood.
Opening in July 2019 and surviving the pandemic while expecting their third child, the Batistas have created what Amy calls "a small batch bakery" where everything is made organically from scratch and baked fresh every morning, influenced by their childhood favorites and cultural backgrounds.
Known for their #1-selling cinnamon roll that's like "a collaboration between your classic roll and a Krispy Kreme donut," plus a viral chorizo breakfast burrito that became a social media sensation, Ceremonia has built such a loyal following that they're expanding to the space next door to meet customer demand.
We can't wait for you to experience Ceremonia Bakeshop.
