American Favorites Get A Michelin-Trained Makeover
This week, we're thrilled to feature The Pastry Box!
Founded by Chef Tiara Bennett, a classically trained pastry chef who honed her craft at Michelin-starred kitchens.
Tiara started by selling pastries outside her apartment during the pandemic to bring joy to her neighbors — and the response was so overwhelming she turned it into a full bakery.
She's now the first Black-owned bakery of her kind in East Village in over 20 years.
Redefining What A Chocolate Chip Cookie Can Be
The menu is rooted in classic American comfort baking — loaf cakes, cookies, doughnuts, seasonal tarts — but executed with serious fine-dining technique.
Her signature chocolate chip cookie has been called one of the best in the city by Infatuation, with a crispy edge, chewy center, and a finish of flaky sea salt.
Complex flavor profiles show up throughout the menu — think brown butter, yuzu olive oil cake, berry monkey bread.
Built on Talent & Community
The Pastry Box is entirely nut-free, making it a rare safe haven for people with allergies who still want world-class pastries.
Tiara's warmth and commitment to her community is as much a part of the brand as the baking itself.
Featured in NYT T Magazine, WSJ, Eater NY, Bloomberg, CBS, and NBC — the accolades speak for themselves.
We can't wait for you to experience The Pastry Box!
