Treats that Taste Like Nostalgia
This week, we're thrilled to feature Welcome Home!
Founded by Isa Steyer and Billy Wright, two friends who met while working at cult-favorite L'Appartement 4F and decided they had to open something of their own.
Billy came up baking bread at home in college, ran his own bread delivery service in Atlanta, and was Head Baker at 4F when they met.
Isa had been managing a sales team of fourteen before a single visit to 4F convinced her to trade it all in for an apron.
They opened Welcome Home in December 2024 — and the New York Times named it Bakery of the Year just one year later.
A Bakery Built on Fair Values
From day one, Steyer and Wright made fair wages non-negotiable.
Back of house and front of house staff share equally in the tip pool — rare in the industry, and a deliberate choice.
They tiled the floor themselves, commissioned a neighborhood employee to paint the exterior mural, and priced their pastries to be accessible to the community they're part of.
This is a bakery that actually means it when they say "neighborhood."
A Playful, Rotating Menu That’s Deeply Good
The cinnamon bun is the one — gooey, sticky, smothered in glaze with dark caramelized bottoms, called Cinnabon's greatest competition by The Infatuation.
The corn cookie is a revelation: lemony cornbread topped with toasted marshmallow.
Seedy homemade bread, morning glory muffins, flaky croissants, and a rotating cast of specials that keeps regulars coming back constantly.
We can't wait for you to experience Welcome Home! ✌️🗽
